Dampak Perubahan Iklim, Pulau Pari Alami Banjir Rob Dua Kali Setahun
Jakarta, 18 November 2020 - Pulau Pari, Kepulauan Seribu kembali mengalami banjir Rob sejak Senin, 16 November 2020. Banjir yang sudah merendam pulau wisata selama dua hari ini merupakan banjir Rob kedua yang terjadi selama tahun 2020.
Ketua Rukun Tetangga (RT) 01, Pulau Pari, Edi Mulyono, mengatakan banjir rob yang terjadi pada tahun 2020 merupakan fenomena banjir yang berbeda dengan banjir-banjir sebelumnya. Untuk pertama kalinya, Pulau Pari mengalami dua kali banjir rob dalam setahun, yaitu pada Juli dan senin lalu. Selain itu, dampak yang ditimbulkan dari banjir rob 2020 juga menjadi yang paling parah melampaui banjir-banjir pada tahun sebelumnya.
“Sebelumnya belum pernah sampai naik ke darat, paling hanya sampai bibir pantai, tapi sekarang lebih parah, ada penambahan debit air. Pada banjir rob bulan Juli bahkan sampai membawa perahu ke darat,” Kata Edi.
Hal serupa juga diungkapkan Rohany, warga sepuh di Pulau Pari yang sudah 65 tahun mendiami pulau itu. Dia mengatakan dari kecil baru pada tahun 2020 ada banjir rob yang sampai naik ke darat, padahal sebelum-sebelumnya belum pernah ada banjir seperti itu.
“Dari saya kecil sampai sekarang, baru juli 2020 ini air laut naik sampai ke jalanan, itupun karena dibuat tanggul, di lokasi lain air sampai naik hingga masjid pulau bagian barat dan rumah warga, belum pernah saya lihat, ini yang paling parah sampai bertahan tiga hari,” kata Rohany.
Eksekutif Daerah Wahana Lingkungan Hidup Indonesia (WALHI) Jakarta menilai fenomena banjir rob yang sekarang terjadi di Pulau Pari tidak terlepas dari perubahan iklim yang tengah terjadi secara global.
"Dampak perubahan iklim sudah nyata, di Pulau Pari saja ini adalah banjir Rob ke dua dalam tahun ini, tidak hanya banjir tetapi abrasi sebelah Timur Pulau Pari, kalender musim yang tidak menentu dan jumlah ikan yang semakin menurun. Kami mendesak agar pemerintah segera melakukan tindakan serius baik secara nasional dan global untuk menekan laju perubahan iklim ini. Apakah harus menunggu pulau Pari yang berpenghuni tenggelam? kata Rehwinda, Pengkampanye WALHI DKI Jakarta.
Sementara itu, akibat banjir yang terjadi saat ini, tujuh warung milik warga di pantai Perawan dan sebagian rumah warga yang tenggelam. Salah satu warga RT 04, Deli, mengatakan sumurnya menjadi asin dan tidak bisa dimanfaatkan seperti biasa.
“Dampaknya masih sama seperti banjir pada Juli lalu, air sumur menjadi asin, ada sepuluh rumah yang terdampak, bedanya pada banjir kali ini warga tidak sampai mengungsi,” kata Deli.

Climate Change Impact, Pari Island Hit by Tidal Floods Twice in a Year
Jakarta, November 18 2020 - Tidal Floods hit Pari Island, Kepulauan Seribu, Jakarta, again on Monday, November 16, 2020. The flood that has submerged the tourist island for two days is the second tidal flood that occurred in 2020.
The head of neighbourhood association (RT) 01, Pulau Pari, Edi Mulyono, said that the tidal floods that occurred in 2020 are different phenomenons from the previous floods. For the first time, Pari Island was hit by two tidal floods in a year, in July and recently which happened last Monday. In addition, the impact of the 2020 tidal floods was the worst, surpassing the previous year's floods.
"Previously, the flood had never reached the land, at least the water only rises up to the shoreline, but now it is worse, there is an increase in water discharge. During the tidal flood that happened in July, it even brought the boats ashore, ”said Edi.
The same thing was also expressed by Rohany, an elderly community member who has inhabited the island for 65 years. He said that since his young age, there had never been such a flood before, it is only in 2020 where the tidal flood reached the land.
“Since I was a little till now, it is only in July 2020 that the sea water rises up to the street even when there is an embankment to [hold the water]. In other locations, the sea water reached the mosque in the western part of the island and community’s houses. I have never experienced this before, this is the worst flood that ever happened that lasted for three days,” said Rohany.
Wahana Lingkungan Hidup Indonesia (WALHI) Jakarta sees that the tidal flood phenomenon that is currently occurring in Pari Island cannot be separated from climate change that is happening globally.
"The impact of climate change is real, the tidal floods have occurred twice this year in Pari Island, not only the flood but also abrasion in the western part of the island. The seasonal calendar is no longer definite and the number of fish is declining. We urge the government to immediately take serious action both on national and global level to curb the pace of climate change. Or do we have to wait for the inhabited island such as Pari Island to sink?” said Rehwinda, campaigner of WALHI Jakarta.
Meanwhile, due to the current floods, seven stalls owned by the local community in Perawan beach and part of the communities' houses are drowned. One of the community members from RT 04, Ibu Deli, said her well has become salty and could not be properly used as usual.
“The impact is the same with the previous flood which occurred in July, the well turned salty, there are ten of the community's houses affected. The difference is that the people do not have to evacuate,” said Ibu Deli.
