URGENT ACTION
KAPOLRI, KAPOLDA METRO JAYA, dan KAPOLRES METRO JAKARTA PUSAT SEGERA BEBASKAN TANPA SYARAT PULUHAN MASSA AKSI DARI DANAU TOBA YANG SEDANG MENUNTUT PENUTUPAN PT. TOBA PULP LESTARI DI KEMENTERIAN LINGKUNGAN HIDUP DAN KEHUTANAN RI!
Jakarta (26/11) Aliansi Gerakan Rakyat Tutup Toba Pulp Lestari (TPL) yang menyampaikan aspirasi di kantor Kementerian Lingkungan Hidup dan Kehutanan (LHK) RI, pada sore hari ini pukul 17.40 WIB ditangkap oleh aparat kepolisian. Sebanyak 40 perwakilan masyarakat Danau Toba yang terdiri dari ibu-ibu dan lansia ditangkap secara sewenang-wenang oleh aparat kepolisian karena meminta bertemu namun tak ditanggapi oleh Menteri LHK Siti Nurbaya Bakar.
Pengerahan kekuatan yang berlebihan, tindakan kekerasan dan penangkapan sewenang-wenang terhadap massa aksi semakin menunjukkan watak represif negara yang seharusnya melindungi warga negara yang menyampaikan pendapat di ruang publik dan ingin bertemu wakilnya di pemerintahan.

TOBA PULP LESTARI AT THE MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT AND FORESTRY OF THE REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA!
Jakarta (26/11)--The Alliance of the People’s Movement Demanding the Closing of PT Toba Pulp Lestari (TPL) who expressed their aspirations at Ministry of Environment and Forestry of the Republic Indonesia (KLHK) office, was arrested this afternoon at 17.40 WIB by the police. 40 people from the alliance who come directly from Lake Toba, North Sumatra to Jakarta, consisting of women and the elderly were arbitrarily arrested by the police for requesting a meeting with the minister, Siti Nurbaya Bakar. Instead of receiving a response from the minister, the people were arrested.
The excessive use of force, acts of violence and arbitrary arrests of the mass demonstrations by the state apparatus further demonstrate the repressive nature of the state which is supposed to protect its people who express opinions in public spaces and wish to meet their representatives in government.
